Greetings Little Sophia Supporters,
I hope you are well during these unprecedented times. For us, it’s been a hard month, as we struggle through numerous challenges: Hong Kong’s massive third wave of COVID 19 slowing our operation, reduced team, financial constraints, myriad global issues, and our own team health issues.
In the midst of all this turbulence, I am proud to report significant progress on Little Sophia, even as we are concerned about the 2020 production schedule. We progressed on the design of the latest firmware and software, making especially strong progress on our latest chatbot AI, and interactive fiction framework. We also pushed forward on the STEM educational curriculum, and we completed an exciting integration with an open-source smart speaker, which would allow Little Sophia to function as a smart assistant, detecting where you are in a room and turning towards your voice. We also met several investors, who expressed interest in helping get little Sophia to market, and we are doing our best to solidify these partnerships since we need additional funding for the factory tooling and manufacturing setup.
Assuming we do get the funding then we will kick off the final design for the manufacturing process, producing final board designs, engineering samples of functioning little Sophia prototypes, and will begin the tooling. However, if we are not able to secure additional investment quickly, then we will not be able to ship Little Sophia until 2021. We, of course, will keep you posted as we know more. One way or another, it’s going to be an exciting and busy month for us, as we continue making the dream of little Sophia come true.
We so appreciate your continued support and encouragement. Please do contact us at email@example.com should you have any questions or concerns. We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy.
