The picture is of the Pump-House located in Palm Beach Shores, on the north side of the Lake Worth Inlet. The sand transfer plant has a unique history and is a really important aspect of life on the Ocean. It was built in 1937 for the purpose of transferring sand from Singer Island to Palm Beach. The pump-house moves sand from the north side of the Inlet to the south side of the inlet to Palm Beach. The Best Little Town in Florida, Palm Beach Shores was incorporated in 1951, 14 years after the pump-house was built.
