Over a thousand people awaited the maiden voyage of the “Grand Celebration” from the Port of Palm Beach Florida. Unfortunately for many, this maiden cruse did not happen. The Grand Celebration was stalled due to sanctions imposed by the U. S. Coast Guard.
Petty officer John-Paul Rios commented to the Port of Palm Beach Post that the ship failed to obtain certification to sail. This was probably due to a faulty emergency P A System on board the ship.
The Grand Celebration has crews working diligently to repair the problems and compensation is being offered to the scheduled passengers in the form of refunds and hotel expenses of a two for one vacation cruse. (George Black Jr.)
