TALLAHASSEE, FL- Today, the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) added Jason Chaffetz and Stephen Moore to the speaker lineup of the upcoming 2018 Sunshine Summit on June 29 in Orlando, FL.
RPOF Chairman Blaise Ingoglia said: “Strong conservative voices continue to be added to our star studded Sunshine Summit program daily, and we are thril
led to include Jason Chaffetz and Stephen Moore to that amazing lineup. The Republican Party’s values stand strongly on the side of the American Dream and the message from these two leading voices are just the rallying cry our attendees will need ahead of a big midterm election.”
“The American spirit is alive and well, and that is thanks to the sacrifices of countless generations before us. From President Washington to President Trump, these men faced challenges head on and today is no different. I am excited to join the grassroots of Florida politics to share stories of inspiration and how the American Dream is at all our fingertips,” said former U.S. Representative and FOX News Contributor, Jason Chaffetz.
“For years, this nation was in an economic malaise, but a resurgence of optimism that has fueled the rate of economic growth is helping the United States retain its global superpower stature,” said Stephen Moore, a Fellow at The Heritage Foundation. “Florida has led, and will continue to lead, the way for this economic growth, and that is why I’m excited to join Republicans at the 2018 Sunshine Summit to discuss how our economy is coming back with a vengeance.”
Taking place at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, the RPOF Sunshine Summit is a unique two-day event, where Republican statewide candidates will share their vision for Florida and this nation, with more than 1,500 voters, grassroots leaders and party activists. Kicking off June 28 with a nationally televised FOX News Channel Florida Gubernatorial Primary Debate, moderated by Special Report anchor Bret Baier and The Story anchor Martha MacCallum, the Sunshine Summit promises to showcase the best of the best in Florida Republican politics.

REPUBLICAN FEDERATED WOMEN OF SOUTH FLORIDA MEETING WITH KCARL SMITH AND JOE BUDD, MAY 17
On Thursday, May 17, the Republican Federated Women of South Florida will welcome two special guest speakers, KCarl Smith and Joe Budd.
According to RedState, “KCarl Smith is one of the most important people grassroots conservatives and Republican Party leaders should be listening to right now.” A retired U.S. Army field-grade officer, KCarl completed the Army’s Airborne and Air Assault Schools while on active duty. He is the President and founder of Frederick Douglass Republicans and the author of the best-selling book, Frederick Douglass Republicans: The Movement to Re-Ignite America’s Passion for Liberty. It was this book that inspired former Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory’s party switch from Democrat to Republican. And it was his message that ignited a group of 30-40 Black and Latino millennials in Providence, Rhode Island, to join and assume key leadership roles within the Providence Republican City Committee. An unyielding defender of the Constitution and liberty, KCarl brings his expertise and provides down-to-earth solutions on how the conservative movement can broaden its base. Tea Party groups, GOP organizations, collegiate institutions, and faith-based groups alike secure his services, and he has appeared on The 700 Club, Fox News’Huckabee Show, The BlazeTV, the 700 Club, and numerous other national TV and radio talk shows. A native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, he is a graduate of Alabama A&M University and makes his home in Trussville, Alabama. KCarl is the proud father of three children and six grandchildren.

RCPB MAY 23RD LUNCHEON TO FEATURE AUTHORS OF
ARE YOU CAPTIVATED by ESPIONAGE? Do you read Spy Novels? Real Life INTRIGUE ? (Ted Bell, Daniel Silva, Nelson DeMille, Ken Follett, John le Carre’). Bring your Friends May 23 to hear from TWO former CIA secret agents who have walked the walk and lived the life for 10 years– Joseph and Michele Rigby Assad-who met in school in central Florida, graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic College, finished graduate studies at Georgetown, Washington DC, and were sent by the CIA after 9-11 to countries whose names had to be redacted from Michele’s book, “BREAKING COVER”, for protection.
Joseph and Michele Rigby Assad
Michele Rigby Assad is a former undercover officer in the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations. Trained as a counterterrorism specialist, Michele served her country for ten years, working in Iraq and other secret Middle Eastern locations.
Upon retirement from active service, Michele and her husband Joseph (also a former agent) joined a group of Americans who wished to aid persecuted Christians. Their efforts resulted in the evacuation of a group from northern Iraq that was featured on ABC’s 20/20 in December 2015. Michele holds a master’s degree in Contemporary Arab Studies from Georgetown University. Today she serves as an international security consultant, splitting her time between the Middle East, Florida, and Washington, D.C
Michele believes that God/Providence brought her together with Egyptian immigrant, Joseph Assad to direct both their lives in ways she will explain…..how SHE in particular, was forced to blend in to the middle east culture to obtain highly sensitive information helpful to the US Government’s work there.
Michele and Joseph will keep us in suspense as to their project to vet and re-locate a number of Iraqi migrants and their quest to find a country that would take them; in this case, it was Slovakia. There were many ups and downs when the airport closed frequently on the days they were scheduled to leave due to impending air strikes and many checkpoints to deal with. (This was a featured story on ABC’s 20/20). Both Michele and Joseph continue their work as international security consultants splitting time between the Middle East, Florida, and Washington, DC. We are lucky she has this date free for us.
Michele reports on the 3 handicaps of a CIA agent’s experience: “We are Americans; we are non-believers; we are CIA officers: – and for her, “She was a Woman”.
There will be copies of Michele’s book available for purchase.
