Don’t forget the Chairman’s project to repave the local VFW parking lot.
This is such a good cause and she would be forever grateful if you would join in this fundraising effort. There is no amount too small, every donation matters.
We’re halfway there and the goal is to have the project done in the next month, to be ready for the events they want to put on for the Vets in the fall.
The VFW is a 501-C3 Their Tax Exempt number is: 60-8012494595-4. Checks are to be made out to: The VFW Lodge 2007.
Thank you in advance for your support, it’s truly appreciated!
I received an invite tonight to attend a protest for Sept 22nd when Governor Scott is planning a visit to West Palm Beach. As a respected cc Palm Beach leader, I urge you and everyone else that received the invite NOT to participate.
After November election we can pick right back up where we left off. No we are not happy about where Florida is with Common Core but we are 45 days away from an election.
Charlie Crist is very vocal about his unwavering support for common core and Federal programs.
I know the fear is Scott will do nothing after election so we must push him now.
I do not see it that way. The Governor will be at more liberty to make changes without the pressure of the election.
Governor Scott is bending our way. We are closer to removing common core with Scott than what we will ever be in the 4 years with Crist.
We need to channel that energy and start protesting Charlie Crist. He is the idiot that signed us up for this mess in 2009. He had the same chance as TX and Alaska and other states to say no but Crist did not.
Crist will continue to sell our kids to the highest bidder.
For the next 45 days we must focus our attention on Crist.

John Thrasher chosen as FSU President
Over the objections of some faculty and students, state Sen. John Thrasher was chosen Tuesday as Florida State University‘s next president.
The university’s board of trustees voted 11-2 to hire Thrasher after an all-day meeting in Tallahassee, with members saying he was the best choice to secure funding and to improve FSU’s national academic ranking.
As soon as the vote was over, protesters erupted in chants of “FSU is not for sale!” – prompting the meeting to be suspended.
For months, Thrasher’s candidacy for FSU’s top job has ignited complaints, mostly notably from faculty members and students who argued Thrasher did not have the academic credentials needed to lead the university.
Thrasher, 70, an attorney who has both undergraduate and law degrees from FSU, has been a dedicated supporter of the Tallahassee university and previously served on FSU’s board of trustees.
